When is God’s Power revealed the most? – When everything is going wrong! David was not a young man when he wrote Psalm 63. He was facing enormous opposition, adversity, such a struggle, such a battle, and so often alone. So he’s saying, “O God, when I’m in the dry place, when I’m thirsty, when everything around me is barren, when the enemy is raging against me, when everything is difficult – I want to see Your Power in my extremity – as I once saw it in the Sanctuary!” When we’re threatened and suffering, THEN God reveal’s His Glory through our deliverance!
The miracles are the evidence
I’m testing and proving what I preach. That’s why the Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, ‘I’m going to come to you, but I’m not coming puffed up as a greater speaker. I’m coming to you as one who has seen and demonstrated the Power!’ No one can deny, those early apostles were seeing and demonstrating the Power. The whole of the Acts of the Apostles is based on the demonstration and fulfilment of the Power which came on the Day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit fell. The whole testimony of the Book of Acts is of men going out and doing everything Jesus had promised! That’s been my life!
The Kingdom of God is in Power
The Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4.19-20, “I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills – and I will know, not the speech of those who are puffed up, but the Power! For the Kingdom of God is not in words but in Power!” That’s an amazing statement! Paul is saying, the Kingdom of God is not ‘words’, but ACTION! It’s so easy to speak. It’s not so easy to act. I want you to become people of action, who put their faith into practice.
Faithful stewards of the Gospel
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 4.1, “Let a man so account of us as of ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. It is required of stewards that a man be found faithful!” So often in ministry we like to consider ourselves as evangelists, pastors and so on, but here, Paul is looking at it in a different way. He’s saying, all of us, as ministers of Christ, are stewards of the Gospel. And the requirement of a steward is that he should be found faithful! Whether you are a member of the congregation, or in ministry as a pastor, prophet or apostle, what counts is faithfulness in whatever God has called you to do!
The more difficult the situation the greater the Power of God
We are living through a very critical time but let me encourage you: the more difficult the situation, the greater the Power of God. When you are in tribulation, when all the problems of life have come upon you; you will find God if you search for Him from just where you are! I want you to reach out to Jesus today; seek Him from where you are; and when you do, you will find He is not far from you.
Faith moves mountains: Three keys to receiving a miracle
When there is a crisis in our lives our only hope is Christ. You - we - have to get an answer from God! When Jesus was on earth, people asked Him direct for what they wanted. We have to do the same, but through prayer. I want to teach you three keys to receive a miracle: Prayer, Faith and Relationship.
The Day of Fulfilment
Don’t talk to me only about a vision for the future. The vision is for now, today! I have the power – Pentecost fell on me – I have the glory of God – and so do you! The glory of God is here – just open your eyes and see! Get the vision. Mix your vision with faith. Act! Nothing is impossible! Lessons from 70 years of ministry: 'For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance.' (Part 14)
The Power of God revealed
This pandemic is an unprecedented crisis. So often I quote the Scripture from Romans 1:16, I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ for it is the Power of God! Whatever nation we live in, politicians and scientists do not have the answer, but God does! He is revealing His Power now! Jesus was revealed to destroy the works of the enemy.
What is God's strategy?
God always has a clear plan and strategy in everything He does. From creation to salvation, nothing has happened in heaven or earth without the foreknowledge of God. An important part of the strategy which God has for today is that He wants to show that His power is not just in heaven, but also demonstrated very powerfully on earth. I have a vision of a God who is so much bigger than you or I can ever imagine! The God of the Bible, has so much more power, is so much bigger, more glorious, more exciting than anything you could dream about! So, start dreaming, but then for God’s sake stop dreaming and start to do something! Lessons from 70 years of ministry: 'For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance.' (Part 12)
Why does God allow crises?
If God exists why does he allow suffering? This question has been in people’s minds very much recently. God is not responsible for natural disasters; these have a natural explanation. But God has more than once used disasters as a warning, for example, as it was in the days of Noah, or the plagues in Egypt. Is God allowing something big enough to shake people out of their total apathy and indifference, and at least reawaken some moral conscience. Lessons from 70 years of ministry: 'For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance.' (Part 11)
